Mad Artists Tea Party, Future Gallery

If you’re in London this weekend I thoroughly recommend popping by the Future Gallery near Leicester Square tube station for maverick bakery event the Mad Artists Tea Party!

You can expect a quirky take on all things cake-related with temporary, edible art being created specifically for the event and all the proceeds go towards the Fairtrade Foundation and two charities, Richard House and We Make Peace. The whole thing is being masterminded by Miss Cakehead and curated by Lily Vanilli with contributing artists such as Stuart Semple, Alex Turvey and David A Smith. My personal favourites were the cake burgers (John Burgerman versus Crumbs & Doilies), the lyric cookies (The Futureheads versus Miss Cakehead) and the rather macabre toucan (George Morton-Clark).

If you can’t make it down this time, keep an eye on the Cakehead Loves Evil website because Miss Cakehead is already planning a Halloween extravaganza entitled ‘Eat Your Heart Out’…
