Temporal art from Lee Arnold

I was idly searching Vimeo this afternoon and came across a few lovely stop motion/timelapse videos by New York-based artist Lee Arnold. Hit play to watch them and let me know what you think of them :)

“‘Schwarzwald’ is inspired by the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich and the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. The forest is a place of beauty and wonder, but it is also a symbol of darkness and dread.”

“‘Winter Light’ was inspired by the Ingmar Bergman film of the same name. The animation is derived from photographs shot in an icy landscape which have been fragmented to represent light, while the atmospheric soundtrack mirrors the emotional timbre of the work.”

“‘Clouds’ is a series of photographic stills of the changing sky shot over a single day. The electronic percussion mirrors the rhythm of the editing, while the ethereal harmonies match the subject of the images.”
