Adorable January sales graphic
Given most online stores just use the post-Christmas sales period as a chance to dispense with graphical niceties and just plaster their homepage with a red oblong with the word SALE in white capital letters, the above papercraft image rather stood out.
If memory servies it was on the Anthropologie homepage. It has since been replaced with a faux cross stitch ‘Sale sweet sale’ sampler so it must have been left up slightly too long after Christmas rather than being a dedicated sales image but it did highlight the fact that, come the sales, the majority of retailers throw branding and individuality out of the window in favour of the red and the white.
I’m sure there’s a financial reason for doing so but surely there’s another way? Can’t the sales be pretty and inventive too?
