Octopus Monday: Sarah A King’s Text-opus
This Octopus Monday is something I saw last year at Pick Me Up – a print art fair at Somerset House. The artist is Sarah A King and the print tells part of a story about a sea monster and a ship. You can see the second part over on her website.
It’s the words more than the silhouette which I like about this piece – the classic language of monsters and men: “Riddlign its body with harpoons,” “There appeared an enormous beast,”and “Shattered two of the small boats into matchwood.”
It’s has the same feeling as, “Here be dragons.”
