Did Google just advertise the best job in the world?

You might have noticed Google’s been stepping up its game in terms of Google Doodles over the last few months – well, it looks like that’s set to continue (YAY) as the search giant is now advertising for an official Doodler to join its California office.

The successful applicant will get to design all those quirky, beautiful and creative adaptations of the iconic Google logo which sit on the company’s homepage on significant dates and link to relevant search results.

From the official job description:

As a Product Graphic Designer/Illustrator, more commonly known as a “Doodler,” you have the world’s best platform to showcase your stylistic skills — as well as your sense of humor, love of all things historical and imaginative artistry. From Jules Verne to Pac-Man, you have the reins to our brand and iconic logo and can run free with your innovative ideas. Go forth and doodle!

Is it just me or does that sound like one of the best jobs in the world?

I love the Google Doodles – they’re one of the things which sets the company apart from its competitors and adds an incredibly human touch. I was so pleased when they started cropping up more and more often – it’s got to the point where there’s now one every few days.

I’m looking forward to seeing what their as-yet-unknown Doodler brings!
