Painting with words in gorgeous Sky advert
This award-winning advert for Sky’s audio description service has apparently been kicking around for a while, but my office’s televisions recently switched to showing the Sky channels so I only saw it for the first time then.
Curiously, although it’s to extol the virtues of the audio description service for visually impaired viewers, I’d only seen it with the sound off and missed a lot of the point. On the up-side, the strength of the typography which creates animated scenes with words means that the creative team behind the ad achieved their goal of making something which “had to appeal to fully sighted viewers, by being entertaining.”
