Lee Broom’s gorgeous Crystal Bulbs get price cut for London Design Festival
Lee Broom is one of my favourite designers – I became emotionally attached to one of his sideboards a few years back, and now I am head over heels for his cut crystal bulbs.
Essentially it’s as if a decanter had a torrid affair with a box of lightbulbs – one of the “but baby, it just doesn’t feel as good when I wear one” kinds of torrid affairs that results in chubby little illuminated cut crystal babies.
The hand blown bulbs were created in collaboration with Cumbria Crystal, the UK’s last remaining producer of handmade English full lead crystal and have been designed to fit any standard E27 ceiling, wall or lamp fitting. The light source is a Luxram 2w power LED capsule bulb emitting a gentle 10 watt glow and with a life expectancy of 45,000 hours (just over 5 years).
As part of London Design Festival Broom will be transforming his studio at 93 Rivington Street into a Crystal Bulb Shop so you can pop in to find out more and to pick up a bulb for a special LDF price of £90 instead of £109.
